Christmas Time.

Well, once again it's CHRISTMAS. It's time for family get-togethers, lots of home cooked meals and leftovers, presents, and the quality time of bonding.
Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year, minus the cold, but that's besides the point. The fact that everyone is in a better mood, feels more forgiving and generous, and loving are my favorite parts. The only bad thing is that it's not like this all year round.
I, personally am still a child when it comes to Christmas. I want to open my presents and immediately take them home and bask in the glory, but as I get older I'm getting more and more joy out of buying other people gifts. Even if I spend 20$, I'm like a child and can't wait to give it to them and have issues keeping it a secret. I guess that's part of growing up, being an adult. I must say, I love it.
As you sit down with your family this Christmas, remember to love them because everything can be gone in an instant. Remember to say thank you, because throughout the year we all made mistakes and probably weren't the best person we could have been, and be grateful because someone out there is wishing for your life that you have now while you're wishing for someone else's.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation Review

I switch foundations like crazy.. I'm constantly looking for a better one and have tons of freckles that come out in the sun so I'm always looking for one that covers them. And yes... I know most people think they are adorable but I want that no imperfection airbrushed tv star look.
I recently got a sample of Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation from Belk's. So far I have noticed that it's definitely a full coverage. It's heavier and thicker than what you would just get from covergirl. I put a little on at a time because it dries very quickly.
I'm very paranoid about my face looking cakey or two different colors and although I feel like it might look that way, everyone tells me it doesn't. It blends very well despite my paranoia.
It covers very well from what I have seen so far, and I do like it. It's about $40 for a bottle but I have a sample jar and I feel like it's going to last me a while, a little seems to go a long way.
If you're looking for a FULL coverage foundation, I would definitely try this one and see. I know a lot of people that just use it as a concealer too if they are just doing light makeup for the day.

Make Up For Ever HD Foundation Review

Recently, I bought the Make Up For Ever HD Foundation from Sephora. I actually bought the starter kit which included the primer, the foundation, the HD microfinish powder, and the kabuki brush. It cost about $80 for all three which is cheaper than buying all of them separate so it is a good deal. If you don't feel the need for the other two products though, than it's not worth it.
I personally am in love with the foundation. It covers very well and it's very easy to build coverage. It looks very natural and not cakey which is a plus. They also offer a ton of different shades which is great!
If you're looking for a new medium/full coverage I suggest going to sephora and trying some on or getting samples.

It's been awhile....

It's been awhile since I've blogged but it has been INSANE in my life. If you're still reading what I'm posting, well thank you. I love being able to take the time to blog and know that maybe I've reached one of you. One person in the millions and millions of people out there. So, I'm going to start trying to use this more.
So much has happened in my life in the past two summer months and i couldn't feel more blessed and grateful for the moments. My eyes are opened even wider than they were and I am just so thankful.
So let's see.... Summer classes, New York, working on my modeling portfolio, family drama, and finally saying good bye to my ex. Like I said, INSANE. But I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Crest Whitestrips Review

I decided to try the crest whitestrips professional effects and I have noticed a difference!
I have probably about 10 days left out of the 20 and my teeth really are whiter. I also was using the Listerine total care plus whitening which I was using before I started the strips, and I think over time it was starting to help but the whitestrips are amazing.
The whitening is even, and you really do start to see a difference after three days. I paid around 50 for the box of 20 days and I feel like it was totally worth it!
The bottom strip is smaller than the top but they are super easy to put on, and they don't move around once they are sealed on your teeth which was a huge bonus. The gel didn't leak out too much but even when it did, it wasn't a horrible taste or make me drool. Taking them off can be harder because of the seal and sometimes I have a residue of the gel but you can either wipe it off or let it go away which only takes a minute or two. I truly loved these. I'm not as white as I want to be, but for the price, ease, and convenience it was WORTH IT!
I would def recommend these to anyone who is interested In whitening their teeth :)

Naked's Green Machine

Well, I constantly go through these things where I'm like "oh I want to be healthier" this week. And then it stops and in a few weeks it starts again. I don't drink much soda, I drink 1-2 cups of coffee a day, maybe some tea but mostly water. Which, for a 20 year old is not that bad. But, I do not eat the healthiest although I try and love veggies and fruits. I have noticed that my fruits just go bad before I have time to eat them and I hate taking the time to cut them up for myself... lazy I know.
Well, you should also know I'm a HUGE fan of Private Practice and almost every episode the main character Addison drinks some kind of strange green juice thing, so out of curiosity I decided to research it and on Kate Walsh's official website she answered my question. It's Naked's Green Machine. It's supposed to be a very healthy way of getting some fruits, veggies, and even some extra things into your diet. So I ran to Walmart and got a bottle.. I paid maybe 8.00 for 64oz. Which, I didn't see to be that unreasonable.
It's really not bad! The look is worse than the taste. If you drink a lot of soda's it is a great alternative even if it's just one cup a day. I don't count my calories but I try to be conscious of what I put into my body. So, it's definitely something I would recommend to EVERYONE. I've read reviews that it's not that good for you and making green juice on your own is healthier, which I totally agree with but I don't have the time nor the patience to do it so this is my way of trying to be a little healthier.
SO TRY IT!

Survivor Slim iphone 5 Case Review & picking an iPhone 5 case!

So, if you didn't know already I finally got an iPhone 5!! T-Mobile has finally gotten the iPhone and I am so happy to finally get one! I'm loving it, although I must say that choosing a case was much more difficult than I had expected....
When choosing a case probably the most important thing I look for is PROTECTION. I drop my phone all the time, so I defiantly needed a case that would protect against drops. The 5 cases I looked at and considered were: The Lifeproof fre, Otterbox Defender, Griffin Survivor, Griffin Survivor Slim, and those pretty rhinestone hard cases. These are the pros and cons I found that helped lead me to my decision after DAYS of research, video watching, reading countless reviews, and so on.
1. The Lifeproof fre:  The lifeproof cases sound like a dream! Waterproof, snow proof, dust proof, and drop proof. They aren't as bulky as the otterbox and do come in colors. They also offer the warranty thing like otterbox that if the case is damaged and is purchased from them or an authorized reseller/retailer and registered they will replace the case. BUT if there is fault with the case and it ruins your phone, the phone replacement is on you.
Pros: Obviously the fact that it's water proof, shock/drop proof, dust proof, and snow proof.... Although even with passing the water test that you're supposed to do before putting your phone in it, I'm still not sure I'm 100% confident. Things happen and that's a pretty big risk. The cases aren't meant to be taken on and off either, so I just felt like it's still a pretty big chance although some people really love theirs and they have taken them swimming and everything else.
Cons: THE PRICE. $80.00 for a case is just a little much for me. I don't have that to shell out, especially with not being 100% confident. I also saw a lot of people had issues with the plastic screen protector. It doesn't sit flat on the screen so it's hard to use at times. It also has a headphone adapter because of the fact it's waterproof so you can't just plug your headphones in which seems like a hassle.
2. The Otterbox Defender:  These cases have been around a while and most people use them. I've never had anyone that I know have any issues with them, and they seem to be quite protective.
Pros:  Drop proof, dust proof. They are drop proof which is what I needed the most. I've never had anyone I know have any issues and they do come in lots of colors so it was a top choice for me. They are only about $50.00 which is still steep but not that bad for the protection.
Cons:  The bulkiness. This was the biggest turn off for me. I want protection but I don't want a huge phone.
3. The griffin Survivor:  The griffin survivor is very similar to the otterbox. Just a different brand.
Pros:  Comes in colors, protective, dust proof. They got very good reviews as well. Didn't read about too many issues with them and they are vey similar to the otterbox.
Cons:  Again, bulkiness.
4. The Griffin Survivor Slim:  This is the case I ultimately ended up choosing. I paid 40.00 for it but so far so good!
Pros:  Comes in colors, drop proof, shock absorbent. This is again, what I was looking for the most and it meets o exceeds military standards for both categories. It also isn't super bulky. It's a polycarbonate case that goes around the back and sides, and then the silicone case that goes around the sides, back, above the home button, and around the front camera so that if it does drop the screen shouldn't hit the ground. It fits nicely in my hand and doesn't add too much bulk.
Cons: It's not dust proof. The bottom is completely open so you can touch the phone and the speakers and everything aren't blocked. The screen protector is just a normal one that protects against scratches (not a built in plastic one), the front camera is just a cutout so you can touch it, and same with the back camera. On the back camera you can see a little of the back of the phone also. Where the silent//vibrate flip button is, is also open but the volume buttons are covered.
5. One of those pretty hard cases: I really love the look of some of them. The jewels, the rhinestones, everything!
Pros: They are super unique and pretty. Also, CHEAP.
Cons: I was afraid they wouldn't provide much protection if I did happen to drop my phone, and I wondered if the feel of the rhinestones would become annoying.

After debating for awhile, I went with the Griffin Survivor Slim because it wasn't too bulky, provided protection against drops, came in the color I wanted, and was a reasonable price. For me, I felt like an otterbox or griffin survivor was just overkill. Do I really need that much protection? Do I really want to take the chance in pay $80 for the lifeproof to not love it and find out later, that for whatever reason water still leaked in? The only thing The griffin survivor slim isn't dust proof but for a college student the dust shouldn't be too much of an issue. I do have cats and the cat here stick to the silicone some if they are laying on, or rubbing against the phone but comes right off. But most cases aren't dustproof and I don't really find that I have the need for it. This was a hard decision for me, and so far I feel I've made a good one. One thing I do LOVE About the griffin survivor slim is it has a little bit of a curve on the side so it's even more comfortable in your hand and doesn't slip out of your hand easily. Choosing a case isn't the easiest decision, there's SO many options now a days but it's all about what works for YOU. What might work for a friend, might not be the best option, so consider everything and think about what you REALLY need in a case.

iPhone 5!

Well if you're a tmobile customer, you KNOW my pain. It's been a long wait for us to finally be able to get the iPhone that we don't have to pay out the ass for, jailbreak, unlock, do crazy things to just to be able to use.... The day is HERE!
Today, is the day we can preorder our iPhone 5. The day we can finally say we are joining team iPhone. I'm SO ready and EXCITED. I'm the crazy person, who is staying up until they open up the preorder so I know I get one... I have been a loyal T-Mobile customer for YEARS. I am SO ready! I have about 3 more hours to go, and I'm sitting here watching Grey's Anatomy with a cup of coffee :) Granted, I'm sure shipping is gonna be a BITCH and i'm gonna have to wait an extra week to get it again but whatever, just knowing that I'm gonna have it will be amazing, and agony all at the same time.
So here I go, three hours to go, coffee in hand, and ready to become team iPhone!

My new addiction...

If you follow me on twitter you know I tweet about it, all the time. EBAY. It's truly becoming amazing, and an addiction... not sure if that's a good thing or not.  How many of us, have closets full of clothes and we never wear half of it? I know that for a fact, I do. I know there are so many things that I haven't even touched in like a year so why do I just let it keep sitting there? I know I have way to many things and nowehere to go, so I started trying to sell stuff.
Granted on EBAY, everyone wants things super cheap so you might not make as much as you want but it's super easy and half the times things do sell and I love the fact that i'm getting rid of stuff! And the best part...  I can buy new things that I will ACTUALLY wear! So ladies, if you have tons of clothes, love to shop, and don't wear half your closet, try EBAY. You'd be surprised how much you can get rid of and even make!

Hudson Jeans!

Well I'm not sure about any of you, but I know that I have one of the hardest times shopping for jeans! Maybe it's because I'm not a jeans person but I feel like they never fit right and they always sag in the back too! Well, my most recent jeans purchase was a pair of Hudson Jeans and I LOVE THEM!
I got the Hudson Bootcut Jeans and they are fabulous! They are so soft which is definitely a plus! Mine still sag in the butt a little after wearing but that's normal as they loosen up since when you put them on they normally feel tight, which again, is normal. They fit really nicely though and have become my go to jean I just wish I would have gotten a longer inseam. They are quite pricey though which is a downfall. They range from 150 and up but always check out ebay! That's where I got mine for a fraction of the cost if you don't mind gently used clothing :)
Overall they fit wonderfully, they are super soft and comfortable, and just beautiful on. So if you love designer jeans or want to invest in a nice pair I would definitely try Hudson. They aren't glammed up like Miss Me's though so they are very basic and a wonderful everyday jean!

My favorite apps!

I use and have used lots of apps on my ipod touch and I usually stick to my favorites and I know we all search for the latest and most useful apps so here's my list.

Tango:  It's a video, calling, and texting app that's completely free as long as you both have it downloaded. I have family who uses it talk to family in Mexico because it's all completely free! It's great for long distance relationships or if you're running out of minutes!

Twitter: Well we all know what twitter is so this one is self explanatory!

Facebook: Same as twitter, self explanatory!

Poshmark:  Poshmark is a shopping app where you can buy and sell your gently used or new clothing, accessories, and shoes. It's supposed to be just for women but of course there are some men's things on there too! :) The downfall is they take 20% of whatever you make and shipping is 6.99 on orders below $25.00 and 4.99 on orders above $25.00 . But you can bundle things so you get a discount and you only pay shipping once and some people also trade so you basically just pay for shipping and swap clothes or whatever for an equal value. It's pretty great, and you get some pretty good deals!

iP Free:  This is an app for you ladies! It's a period tracker and I must say it's AMAZING. It shows when you're supposed to be ovulating and when you're expected to start so it's perfect when you're making plans and vacationing. I love it and really is beneficial considering I suck at remembering this on my own.

Viggle:  If you watch a lot of t.v. this is a great app for you! When you're watching current tv or tv shows that have aired during the past week you check in and it finds your tv show and you get points. Once you rack up some points you redeem them for whatever they have available during that time. So basically, you get rewarded for watching tv! How easy is that?

Pink Nation:  A VS app that has games, goodies you can unlock, and special offers for becoming a member! Need I say more?

Ebay & Paypal:  Great for us shopaholics who need to get rid of things.

These are probably my favorites... Granted I have many more that I use but these are my most frequently used! I hope these help you out and maybe you have some new favorites too :)

EBAY!

Ebay.... one of the world's most famous online shopping sites... especially for used items.
But yet I'm having such a hard time selling! I mean i'm listing things that are in really good condition and i'm being reasonable with prices yet I still can't get things to sell! It's so aggravating! I don't know how to get more exposure and of course the three items I have sold they didn't leave feedback!
Does anyone have any tips? I always ship next day unless it's the weekend because the post office closes so early, I charge calculate rates for shipping and normally ship priority mail or first class so it's cheap... anywhere between 3-7 dollars normally depending on the item and I even make the packages cute once shipped! I wrap them before I put them in the box and then tie them with ribbon and include a little note! I wish people did that for me! I mean seriously.. why can't I get things to sell?! Am I doing something wrong? Are there tricks to the trade? PLEASE if you know any share them or tell me what you're doing if you are making sales because i'm not sure what's more annoying... the clutter or the fact that i'm not succeeding!

Product Review - Blonde Box Dye! :)

Well, good news girls! I just got done dyeing my hair blonde from a box... AND IT WORKED! I was sooo nervous seeing as how so many people said they had bad experiences but I had to check for myself. I know I can't afford to really go to a salon to get my hair done.. I know I used to go to a nice salon and get my entire head done and it was normally over 200.00 and I just can't afford that!

I am a natural blonde. I was a bright blonde with many different colors of blonde in my hair. But, of course as I got older decided I wanted to be a brunette.. so the first time I got it done by my hair stylist and then decided to do it on my own through box dye. I never had any issues, I actually used a blonde dye (2 boxes) on my brown hair and it didn't do anything but it also didn't turn me orange or anything. Then I finally went back to blonde (whole different story). But my color has faded over the year and I wanted to just go a little brighter and happier blonde I guess, I felt after all that brunette my blonde had darkened and I was bored so out to walmart I went and bought a box of blonde dye!!!

I used Garnier Frutis (however you spell it). It was only maybe a shade or two lighter/brighter than what I had in my hair or my natural color I suppose. I followed the directions and mixed it. Then into my hair it went... I didn't use the entire bottle. I had some left and my hair is a little past my shoulders. I left it on for about 30 min, I wanted to make sure it had time to soak in and suggested time is 25-30 min. My hair was saturated but not soaking or dripping. I washed it out and then left the conditioner in for maybe 3-5 min even though they say you only need 2-3 min. I towel dried for a few min and then blow dried because I was so anxious to make sure I wasn't coppery, orange, green, or any other funky colors. To me, I didn't notice really any change. The color my hair was, was a dirty/dark blonde I guess. My parents do see the difference though so I'm assuming it is just the lighting and the fact that (of course) it doesn't look exactly like the box. BUT low and behold I did go into different lighting and see that IT IS lighter. My parents say it's pretty close to the box color and best of all not any funky colors!!!! My mom says it looks very natural which is an even better thing. So... lucky for me I didn't have a horrible or trumatic experience and will most likely stick with Garnier for my future hair colors. I wish you the best of luck in ALL of your hair coloring adventures and hope this helps some of you all! :)

Product Review - Maybelline Baby Lips

I don't know about you all but I know my lips are constantly rough and scratchy feeling. I have struggled and still struggle to find something to help with it! So this is my review from experience with Maybelline's Baby Lips Chapstick! I purchased the quenched one.

The packaging is super cute on these! I love the colors and even the size is kinda cute. They are monstrous but yet aren't teeny tiny either. I noticed some of them came with a little bonus of tint but personally if I want lip color I go for my lipstick or gloss. I did notice that only two of them had sunscreen which I look for in a Chapstick.. The peppermint and quenched. I'm not a huge fan of flavors so I went with quenched and it was no color added.
Using the product it isn't super greasy and it doesn't feel like I've put much on either. I almost feel as it soaks in almost immediately. It does add a shine though. I do like it and it does keep them not as cracked feeling for a while but have to reapply throughout the day. It def is not all 8 hours as advertised. I like it so far and would buy again!

New Years

Well for starters it's 2013!!! Still doesn't feel like it though... but HAPPY NEW YEARS! Now let's get on with it....
How many of us say "new year, new me" or make resolutions... but how many of us actually stick to them? I know I don't. It's a great idea, but let's face it.. In reality it never actually happens or works. We set out with the idea that we are going to change who we are or silly things that we don't like (that we said for months already we were gonna change) but what makes the new year hype so much different? Is it because it's a new beginning? Is it because it's tradition and everyone does it? Or is it just because we like to lie to ourselves and feel like we might accomplish that goal that has sat there for months? Who knows.
Change isn't just about what time of year it is. You, as a person are changing all year round even if you don't realize it. Just because things look the same now doesn't mean in a year or five years it will look that way. Time flies and we don't really even notice half the time. The days seem so long but looking back it seems so short. Goals shouldn't be set just because it's a new time. Set them ALL the time. You're never too late to accomplish something. Have hopes, have dreams, have fears, but be realistic with yourself too. That's always important. Reality isn't always fun but it's the truth, and it's okay to be caught up in a dream at times too.
So ladies and gents, stop lying to yourself and complaining if you don't want to make the effort to change it. Be determined, and make this another fabulous year! I mean after all we did survive the end of the world... :)
